Construction Estimating Academy (“CEA”, “we”) runs estimatingacademy.org, where you can take courses, join live webinars and buy estimating templates. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. We follow the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password. We store passwords only as a one-way hash.
- Google sign-in: if you choose “Continue with Google”, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID. We do not receive your Google password or access your Gmail, Drive, contacts or other Google data.
- Orders and payments: what you buy, the amount, and the proof of payment you upload (for example a bank transfer or e-wallet receipt) with its reference number. We do not collect or store card numbers.
- Learning records: your enrollments, lesson progress, quiz answers and scores, webinar registrations and the certificates you earn.
- Messages: what you send through our contact or corporate training forms, such as your name, email, company and message.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser type and request logs, used to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To process your orders, confirm payments and give you access to courses, webinars and downloads.
- To track your progress, grade quizzes and issue certificates.
- To send emails about your account and purchases, such as password resets, order updates, webinar details and certificates.
- To answer your messages and training inquiries.
- To prevent fraud, spam and abuse, and to fix problems with the site.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Google user data
We use the information Google shares with us (name, email address and account ID) only to create your account and sign you in. We do not share it with others except the service providers below that run the site, and we do not use it for advertising. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Certificate verification
Each certificate has a number that anyone can check on this site. A verification shows the name on the certificate, the course and the date it was issued, so employers can confirm it is genuine.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with providers that help us run the site, and only as much as they need:
- Cloudflare: website hosting and security, email delivery, file and video storage, and bot protection on our forms.
- DigitalOcean: the servers and database behind your account (Singapore region).
- Google: sign-in, if you choose to use it.
- Zoom: live webinars you register for.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work: one keeps you signed in and one protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Cloudflare may set a security cookie to tell people from bots. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning records while your account is open, so your courses and certificates stay available. We keep order and payment records as long as accounting and tax rules require. Messages are kept as long as we need them to answer you.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it. Some records, such as completed orders and issued certificates, may need to be kept for legal or verification reasons. To make a request, use our contact page.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls for staff and private storage for uploaded files. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach as the law requires.
Children
The site is meant for adults and working professionals. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian's consent.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let account holders know by email.
